The condom is the only method out of all the contraceptives, which protects against pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. Sadly, there are a lot of myths out there which prevent people from believing in the effectiveness of the condom. Here are some of the myths that we’re busting:
Myth: If the condom breaks there is nothing you can do.
BUSTED: When used correctly and every time, latex condoms are very unlikely to break. However, if by any chance they do break, you need to stop having sex immediately and use a brand new condom. Plan B can also purchased over the counter to further reduce risk of pregnancy,
Myth: Condoms aren’t effective at preventing pregnancy.
BUSTED: Condoms are 98% effective in preventing pregnancy when used correctly each and every time you have sex.
Myth: You don’t need a condom if you’re having oral sex.
BUSTED: You should always use a condom when having any type of sex. Gonorrhea, chlamydia and herpes can all be passed by having oral sex.
